In 1875 Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old Czech immigrant, opened a small jewelry shop on Maiden Lane in New York City.  By 1912 Bulova had set up its first plant dedicated to the production of watch components and their assembly into jeweled movements in Bienne, Switzerland.  In 1923 the name Bulova Watch Company, Inc. was adopted.  Bulova perfected a new concept in the watch industry of total standardization of parts. Every part of a Bulova watch was made with such precision (standardized to the ten thousandth of an inch) that it was interchangeable with the same part in any other Bulova watch. This revolutionized the servicing of watches in the industry. The Bulova Watch Company went public on the American Stock Exchange in 1927.

This is an excellent example of a rare Vintage Bulova President timepiece.  It features a 10K Gold Plated case with nice detailing on the bezel and an original finish 2-tone hourglass dial. This watch was made in 1952.  It is five times signed and measures 36mm end to end and 28mm wide, including the Bulova signed gold crown.  The 10K Gold Plated case is in excellent condition with beautiful bezel detailing.  The movement is a 21 jewels USA made Bulova 10BM which sets and winds smoothly and is running well and keeping excellent time.  The original finish dial is stunning,  featuring a 2-tone face with an hourglass design with raised gold numerals that compliment the beautiful gold hands.  The crystal is in excellent condition.  The back of the case is also in excellent condition and is marked BULOVA L2 indicating the year of manufacture as 1952.  It is marked on the inside BULOVA 10K ROLLED GOLD PLATE BEZEL STAINLESS BACK NEW YORK.  Comes fitted with a brand new 16mm leather strap.  This watch is very hard to find in this condition and will make an excellent addition to any collection.
